National Service Scheme (NSS)



Students are encouraged in participating in NSS (National Service Scheme) activities organized by the NSS unit. NSS unit of Behali Degree College was formed during the session 2014-15. NSS is sponsored by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to train the youth in Community Service. The main objective of NSS programme is to prepare the NSS Volunteers for the democratic, self-disciplined and self-reliant way of life. It is therefore, of vital importance that the NSS units are organized and run on democratic lines. The student leaders, NSS Volunteers and other members of the staff and eminent personalities from the community are also to be associated with it. They should be encouraged to participate in planning, executing and evaluation of NSS programme.
A student enrolls as NSS volunteer will have to put in 240 hours for community work in a year for period of two years. Student of B.A. 1st and 3rd Semester are allowed to join as NSS Volunteers.


National Cadet Corps (NCC)



The National Cadet Corps (NCC) in India was formed in 1948 under an Act of Parliament. Over the years, with the motto of “Unity and Discipline” NCC has spread its activities and values across the country. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) aims to build up Organised, Trained and Motivated youths by enhancing qualities of Leadership, Comradeship, Discipline, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure and Ideals of selfless service in all walks of life.
The NCC Unit of Behali Degree College was established in 2018. It is affiliated to 5 Assam BN NCC, Tezpur. The total strength of Cadets (SD & SW) in the College NCC Platoon is 60. The enrolment process for the vacant seats starts at the beginning of academic session immediately after the completion of the B.A. / B.Sc first semester admission. For enrollment students shall apply in the prescribed form.
